Truck blowers are mounted on lorries or trailers and used for pneumatic transport of products such as granules, powders, animal feed and wood chippings.
Mostly used in the agriculture, building and food industries, the required output capacity usually is within the range of 500-800 m3/h, and the operating pressure difference of up to 1000 mbar.
Standard Features
The truck blower is designed for horizontal or vertical airflow and can be used to blow air or to suck air as a vacuum. Suitable for direct pure torque drive throughout the performance range or vee belt drive up to 45kW.
The standard blower comes with two drive shafts to allow for the correct alignment with the main drive from the vehicle power take-off. Either shaft can be used to drive the blower and this allows the spare shaft to drive alternative equipment if required.
Freely vented air gaps between the air chamber and the lubricating system ensure an oil free air discharge. Shrouding of the air gap ports virtually eliminates the possibility of rainwater contaminating the lubricating oil and grease.
To cater for vehicles standing on uneven ground, the oil level allows for a 15° angle of tilt in all directions.
Specification
Casing: The main case and bearing housings are manufactured from high quality grey cast iron.
Rotors: The rotors and shaft of ample rigidity and strength are cast integrally in high tensile Spheroidal graphite iron. They are machined all over including the lobe lightening holes to ensure vibration free operation.
Bearings: Grease lubricated single row roller bearings are used on the drive end of the blower. At the gear end, an oil lubricated double row angular contact ball bearing supports each shaft radially as well as providing axial location of the rotors.
Gears: Oil lubricated straight spur timing gears are tempered and ground for accuracy, long life and lowest possible mechanical noise level.
For operating in high ambient temperatures or when vehicle discharge times are above normal, a larger capacity oil sump is required and is available as an alternative to the standard oil sump. This larger sump allows for greater heat dissipation from the lubricating oil and is a standard fitting on all VR Blowers which are known to be destined for export. The blowers are suitable for intermittent operational times of up to 2 hours with the standard sump and up to 6 hours with the larger sump.
